Unearthing Treasures: What Professional Organizers and Clients on the Autism Spectrum Offer Each Other
The presenter will shed light dimensions of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) that might make the client-professional organizer relationship unique, challenging, and/or meaningful on both sides.
Dr. Rachel Winer is a clinical psychologist, a teacher and a writer. Her interests include arts and culture as a modality of care, and she uses film, museum artifacts, art and music in her work with autistic adults. She teaches at The Jung Center, and also has served as faculty at Rice University and Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Winer is the behavioral health consultant for the Houston Contemporary Dance Company and is on the advisory board of The Council of Recovery.
Her passions include being an aunt, superheroes, swimming and as a volunteer voter registrar, ensuring that every voice is heard.
