Board of Directors 2017-2018


 

All positions attend monthly board meeting and a monthly or quarterly "national" phone call for their position.

 

Executive Board

 

President -

Liana George

The President is responsible for setting the agendas for and running the Annual Strategic Planning Meeting, the monthly Board meetings and the Monthly Meetings. Starting with the Annual Strategic Planning Meeting, the President supports the Mission Statement of the Chapter by directing the focus of the Board and thus the activities for the Chapter for the President's term. The President supervises the activities of the various Board positions, to ensure the duties assigned that position are completed.

Secretary

Records minutes of the board meetings, maintains and updates electronic record retention platform, reviews Policy and Procedures annually and updates as needed as approved by the Board, maintains the two Secretary binders and adds pertinent information as needed to be passed on to successors, assists Librarian to order whatever cds/DVDs from annual conference the board approves to be placed in chapter library and creates certificates of appreciation for May meeting for all board members and any chapter member that the board members nominate for any assistance to the chapter.

 

Vice President

Shall serve as advisor to the President; May serve as parliamentarian for Board meetings and Chapter meetings; Shall perform other duties as requested and/or delegated by the President.
 

Treasurer

Handles all duties relating to the funds and finances of the chapter including managing the bank accounts, paying bills, collecting dues/fees and monthly bank reconciliations.  Maintains chapter budget throughout the fiscal year and arranges for any financial audits or reviews as directed by the Board of Directors.  Prepares and submits financial reports to the board on a monthly basis and NAPO National at the end of each fiscal year.

The NAPO Houston Marketing Director is the primary contact for media inquiries and serves as one of the administrators for NAPO Houston’s Facebook page, LinkedIn group and YouTube channel

Events Coordinator

Sue Renfrow

The Events Coordinator is responsible for planning special events throughout the year, such as Get Organized (GO) Month in January and the Messiest Play Room in October.

Professional Development Director

Lisa Hettinger

The Professional Development Director plans and secures the speaker or program for the monthly chapter meetings. At the meeting, the PDD assures any necessary set up of room and introduces the speaker. Submits information about upcoming meetings to newsletter and website.

 

Membership Director

The Membership Director is responsible for Organizing Industry Membership registrations and renewals, providing information to Industry guests and new members about the chapter and the organizing industry as a whole, creating membership reports for the Houston board and NAPO National, growing the chapter’s membership, outreach to non-member organizers, and any other responsibilities assigned by the President or Vice President.
 

Corporate Associate Membership Director

The Corporate Associate Membership Director is responsible for working with the Associate Member Committee to build relationships with industry partners. The objective of the chair is to build a solid group of Associate Members who actively participate in and benefit from NAPO-Houston. Additionally, the Associate Member Chair works to increase familiarity between Regular Members and Associate Members to expand all members’ industry resources to ultimately promote each others’ businesses.

 

Communications & Technology Director

Responsible for distributing the electronic newsletter, assisting other board members with technical issues, and coordinating with website and online membership database administration and support.
